About the 2012 Charlotte Film Festival:
2012 Festival
Are you ready to quit being a buzz follower and be a Buzz Maker?

You better. The 2012 Charlotte Film Festival has over 70 brand-spanking-new movies coming to Charlotte this March. Some of them have been gaining momentum on the festival circuit and collecting numerous awards. Others are fresh off the editing suite and looking to meet their first would-be lovers.

This year, the Festival takes place Monday through Wednesday evenings at one location; the luxurious Epicentre Theater, where Mez, their up-sacle restaurant, and their cool bar can help you turn the night into an even bigger occasion. And don’t worry about parking. The first 3 hours are FREE (in the Epicentre parking deck) with ticket purchase.
SECOND SCREENINGS – the audience picks

We want you to know that the Charlotte Film Festival is YOUR festival. So this year we left some screening spots open on the schedule for you, our audience, to choose which films we show a second time.

Therefore, after looking over the program guide, if you see a movie you want to see but can’t make it to the listed screening, go to the Questions section of our Facebook fan page page and cast your vote to request we screen it a second time. You will only be able to cast one vote per film, but there’s no limit on the number of films you vote on.

Winning selections will be announced on our website’s frontpage and on our Facebook wall at noon of the days with second screenings available.
Q&As and Other Activities

If you’ve come to the Charlotte Film Festival before, you know that at the end of some films we conduct Q&As with the filmmakers in attendance or staff-driven discussions. This year, we’ve also partnered with various organizations to create events around some of our documentaries that we feel could inspire some positive change. What, who, and where will appear listed under each film’s description.
Ticket Price

Movies are $10 and the Awards Presentation is $15 (and includes admission to Opening Night film). All ONLINE ticket purchases must be done through the Epicentre Theaters website. However, our film listings offer direct link to the movie on their site, so you can browse through them wherever you feel more comfortable.

Please note that, when making your ticket purchase through the Epicentre Theater’s website, it will show movies at $7 and the Awards Presentation at $12. However, the system will add a $3 surcharge per ticket before the ticket purchase is finalized. The surcharge is an Epicentre Theater charge and not ours. The surcharge is applied whether you purchase online OR at the theater’s box office.
