the demon

The REAL experiences and stories involving the Ouija board spirit ZoZo are widespread and terrifying.

The “ZoZo phenomenon” has been extensively researched by survivor Darren Evans and discussed on True Ghost Tales. More Ouija Board sites are listed at ParaSeek.

DARREN’S STORY

My name is Darren and I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am currently 40 years old, and have held a fascination with the occult since an early age. I have had many bizarre experiences with Ouija boards and I am writing this as a warning to people that bad things can happen because of these “portals.”

Parker brothers doesn’t care if a demon possesses you, or if you come under some type of attack from something you know nothing about. The majority of people from The United States holds a skeptical view regarding the scientific evidence of spirits or ghosts, and many people who believe in these things also believe that it is for this very reason that ghosts and poltergeists occur here and exist “under the radar” so to speak. These Ouija boards are manufactured under the precept that they are mere “toys.” Let me tell you first hand that THEY ARE NOT TOYS, and should be used with strict caution, and probably should not be messed with AT ALL. Other countries take a more open minded view of spirits, demons, and ghosts, and many many cultures have based entire religions from these beliefs.

During my experiences with Ouija boards one particular spirit always seemed compelled to make its presence known. Its name is ZOZO. Today I refuse to even pronounce its name as I believe the mere pronunciation of it can cause it to manifest itself. Too many times to count, it has at first pretended to be a nice spirit, or pretend to be whomever I was trying to contact. But eventually it showed its true self, cussing me, threatening me and others present in the room. Once it actually cussed me using what looked like Latin or Hebrew, and using biblical terminology. I was genuinely fascinated and startled by how many times ZOZO showed up, even in many different states and many different Ouija boards. It always wound up being very nasty and commented freely about how it wanted to posses my girlfriends and take them to paradise. When asked where paradise was, it spelled H.E.L.L. One time after ZOZO was being extremely evil, I walked into my bathroom only to see my 1 year old daughter about to drown. Her mother had left her alone in the tub “just for a second” and somehow the water got turned on and was overflowing. Instinctively she had her face tilted up and was seconds from going under when I grabbed her from the water. The next day she was hospitalized for some weird internal infection and was put in isolation for 14 days straight as doctors tried to diagnose the illness. We almost lost her, and that was when I began to suspect demonic attack.

At this same time my girlfriend maintained a “trance like” state. Her personality changed from a very sweet person, to withdrawn, and uncaring. ZOZO said before this that it was going to possess her and eat her soul. I was recording music for a future rock project and I remember jokingly asking if it had an opinion on what I should name the band. It spelled IRON TONGUE, which at the time I thought was pretty cool, only later when my daughters tongue swelled up in the hospital to the point of asphyxiation I realized that this wasn’t cool AT ALL! Her tongue became rock hard, and distorted her face, swelling up to where it hung grotesquely from her mouth. We took turns bedside at the hospital for what seemed like forever before my daughter began to recover from this strange affliction.

When guests would spend the night in our house they would claim that they heard frightening voices coming from inside the walls. Objects would be thrown across the room, and spiders seem to come from nowhere. My girlfriends brother whom lived with us complained that he couldn’t sleep at night because the “conversations” were so loud that he simply could not rest. He believed in ghosts, and though he wasn’t afraid of them, he said that it definitely felt demonic. Lights would come off and on by themselves, doors would open and unlock themselves. One night in our bedroom a viscous laughter emanated from thin air, and to this day I cannot explain the terror in that laughter. One night I was awakened by what felt like hands on my throat choking me. I could not breathe, I could not scream. After about 30 seconds it released its grip and I gasped for air. The same thing happened to my girlfriend the next night. Another night me and her brother were standing just outside the back porch sliding glass door when we were talking about a supposed curse of their family. I abruptly exclaimed “I rebuke this curse in the name of Jesus Christ!” I no longer finished saying those exact words when a deafening sound and a vibration struck the entire house with such an alarming “boom” that the neighbors came over to ask if I had heard something strange. I knew it wasn’t our imaginations, I got out the ladder to see what had landed on top of the house only to find nothing. Things settled down after that, and to this day I believe that whatever made that noise also caused the disturbance to go away… For awhile.

My girlfriend broke up with me, and I met someone online in Michigan, where I moved up to be with her. She didn’t believe in spirits, and although I knew better, I decided to make her a believer as well. Living in a very small town in Marshall Michigan there were no stores that sold Ouija boards so I downloaded one from the internet. I printed it out, and to my horror ZOZO returned. It said it came from “cyberspace”…and when I asked it where it lived it spelled “SKULL NECKLACE”… We didn’t think much of this until I asked it again where it was, this time spelling “MIRROR.” The was only one mirror in the bedroom where we were crouched on the floor, and I heard a scream coming from her 7 year old niece who was watching us with another young friend. We looked up at the mirror and saw the skull necklace swaying back and forth with glowing eyes looking down at us!

My new girlfriends son had hung the necklace on one of the posts of the waterbed hours before I downloaded the paper board. We almost jumped out of our skin, and although 3 feet of fresh snow had fallen that night we all found ourselves in the front yard not knowing what to do, scared and frozen in terror. My girlfriend was so fascinated she drove 40 miles to purchase a new glow in the dark Ouija board much to my dismay.

The next night we had another session in the same room. ZOZO immediately came forth, and even without me being a participant. My girlfriends nieces were using the planchette and I would secretly write down a color onto a small piece of paper, then crumple it up where no one could see. I asked the young girls to ask the board if it knew which color I had written down, it quickly scooted to “YES!”…”BLUE!” I remember chills coursing up and down my spine as I threw the wadded up paper to my girlfriend. Her eyes widened as she read the written color BLUE! We then tried the same thing with shapes, and words and every time the board knew.

One night we asked the board if the spirit would show itself. It spelled YES and told me to turn out the lights and take a picture of the necklace above the board. I did just that and what turned out is eerie to say the least. On the upper left hand corner of the picture you can plainly see “winged” skeletons flying about, and they are of the exact same weird shape of this “skateboarders” skeleton necklace. Towards the middle you can make out hideous faces, I have seen at least 4 evil faces in this picture. I took this picture about 6 years ago, people have stolen it off of paranormal websites claiming they took it, when I know truthfully it was me. I have sent this picture to several “experts” and they have all said they cannot explain the images inside. As if all of this wasn’t strange enough now comes the REALLY scary part.

A few months ago I googled the word ZOZO. To my shock, many other people have also been contacted by a demon by the SAME NAME! I read about 20 similar stories and I am now convinced that this simply CANNOT be mere coincidence. Supposedly ZOZO is an ancient demon name which possibly stands for “The Destroyer.” Claims of demonic possession are associated with this ZOZO, and I feel it my duty to warn people to steer clear from this if it happens to present itself during a Ouija board session. I am currently researching this phenomena for a future book, and am in the initial stages of presenting my findings to a reputable demonologist who has been involved in hundreds of cases of paranormal activities across the world including “A Haunting in Connecticut.”

What is this ZOZO? Supposedly the 3 headed dog demon which guards the gates of hell has a tattoo on its forehead that spells ZOSO. Also, ZOZO is a term Aleister Crowley claimed meant “666.” Jimmy Page of the rock group Led Zeppelin also used ZOSO as a symbol on the Zeppelin 4 album. Could ZOZO and Zoso be connected somehow? How can so many different people from so many different parts of the world somehow lie about this ZOZO spirit? And if they aren’t lying, than how can you explain these visitations by this wicked entity? Is ZOZO the devil himself? Or a wayward demon who has the power to manifest itself wherever and whenever it is called?

Heed my warnings people, if you are playing around with a Ouija board, and you jokingly ask it if it has a name and it spells ZOZO. Close the session properly, cleanse the house, NEVER I repeat NEVER ask it again. And if you are brave enough to carry on conversations with this spirit do NOT antagonize it, or act on its directions. I know what I have seen, and I know other people have also come into contact with this spirit. It is dangerous beyond words. I realize not every session results in negativity, but when you play with this ZOZO you are playing with fire. Everything I have described here is true, and I am not exaggerating one bit. It may take me years, but I DO intend on writing a book about this, as I have many more stories that I do not have time to mention here. They all stem from true events that took place while talking to this ZOZO.

Folks I have been told by people wiser than myself that the spirit world is “MORE REAL” than this world of so called reality. Ouija boards can cause many bad things to happen in your life. I am including the Ouija Ghost picture within this submission. Maintain an open mind, and most of all BE CAREFUL!

EVAN’S STORY

Hi, my name is Evan [last name withheld]. I am a 15 year old that lives in Mobile, Alabama.

I have recently had some experiences with this “Zozo” person using an Ouija Board obviously.
I saw where you had posted your experiences with Zozo on www.trueghosttales.com, and I have come to you with some experiences me and my mother have had with an Ouija Board.

You see, when my mom was about my age here and some of her friends used to be big with using Ouija Boards. She is 36 now, and has told me to never mess with them, but with the hard head of a teenager I did anyway. Anyway, her and 2 of her friends were using an Ouija Board at our old house when they were all about 17. They were talking to a peron named “Maleki”. As soon as this “Maleki” finished spelling his name, my mom blacked out. Or so she thought. Her friends had told her that she became convulsing and speaking in tongues, like ancient Hebrew or something, and her eyes were rolled into the back of her head, and they tried to touch her and shake her but they said she was so hot that it was like touching a hot oven. Then after my mom came to, and they properly said goodbye to the demon (or spirit) they put the Ouija Board up to never use it again. But a couple of days later the cross from my grandfathers coffin, in my mom’s room began turning itself upside down and we’ve had hauntings like that at that house even since.

Then on Halloween in 2009 me and some friends went to a graveyard to use an Ouija Board, but I was too caught up in the moment to really remember what my mom has said about them. We spoke to a demon, or spirit, named “Diablos”. My friend Kyle asked him if he knew anyone personally in the group and it said yes. Kyle asked who and it said “E” and I was the only one there with the initial “E”. I then asked how do you know me, and it said “M” which scared me since my moms first initial is “M”.

But now my experience I had with Zozo this weekend.
My and some friends went to my old house because they wanted to use an Ouija Board. The one I earlier said was haunted and were my moms cross in my moms old room would turn upside down. I didn’t want to have anything to do with it, so I told them the basic rules that my mom has told me since shes a Pagan. I stood outside of the circle and watched, and they began. They told to a spirit and asked its name and, obviously, it said “Zozo”. They then asked, “Are you a good spirit?” and it said no. They then said, “Do you want to hurt any of us?” it said yes, and they said “who?” and it replied, “E -V-A-N”, I then started to get really scared and told them to put it up, but seeing as how they don’t know the dangers they could cause (regardless of the fact that before this they spoke to a spirit and didn’t say goodbye to a spirit, thus opening a portal and then all the power went out in the neighborhood we were in, and the school’s alarm next to the neighborhood went off) they refused to put it up. They then asked why Zozo wanted to hurt me and it said “Margaret”, which is my mom’s name. At this point I was so scared I was practically crying. Zozo then carried on to say that he was gonna do his “harm” to me in 2018. They asked what he was going to do to me and it said “torture”. I then ran out of the house.

Ever since then I’ve seen 2018 everywhere I turn like Zozo is telling me its going to happen.
Like I had a missed call on my cell phone, so I checked and it said the number was 2018. I really don’t know what to do, and I’m really afraid to go to the kitchen by myself.

But theres my story. I hope that helps in any way to your studies of Zozo, and goodluck on writing that book.

Thanks for your help,
Evan

DEENA BUDD’S STORY

ZoZo and the Ouija Board

Most people know that the story of The Exorcist was actually based on a true story of a young boy possessed by a demon, and taken to the old Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis to be helped. Many don’t know that, as in the movie, the trouble all started after an aunt brought an Ouija board into the house. In the true story, the aunt died soon afterward, and the family thought, at first, that the paranormal activity was being caused by her. Of course, the activity became so aggressive and violent, that they soon realized the true source was something else altogether.

When I was about ten, approximately the same age as the young boy, I was given an Ouija board by my aunt and uncle visiting from St. Louis. Of course, they had no idea of the power of the device, considering it only an innocuous game made by Parker Brothers.

I have to admit I had a lot of fun with that “game” through the years. Weird and crazy things happened, but I was never really frightened. Some of my friends were and didn’t want to play with it anymore.

I grew up, had other matters to deal with, and kind of forgot about the Ouija Board. Years later, when in my early thirties, I returned to my hometown with my two young children in tow.

Not long after my return, a good friend of mine, Murf, passed away. I was the one who found him. I had a friend, Buddy, with me who had never even met Murf. Oddly, when Murf didn’t answer the door that afternoon, and I was turning away saying he must not be home, it was my friend who said, “He’s there, Deena.” He has some psychic ability, and knew Murf was inside.

That night Buddy and I got my old Ouija board out to see if Murf was there. It was like he was waiting to talk to me. I had never seen the planchette move so rapidly and so accurately. It was definitely Murf. He knew all the answers to the questions I asked, and his wonderful sense of humor was there as well. He told me he was happy, and in a good place. We “talked” all night.

The next night, I decided to try again. Murf was gone. It kept saying, “Zozo is coming.” I had no idea what that meant. It kept “warning” me. Later on after I went to bed, I heard footsteps in my room. I turned on my bedside lamp, and there was a dark figure sitting across the room at my table. He faded in front of my eyes. I felt a little apprehensive, and called up a friend. My friend’s mother was very psychic, and she listened to my story. She then told me to stay away from the Ouija board because I could open a gate that I might not be able to close. I think it was too late for that.

I went online to see if I could find anything about Zozo. There was nothing.

Years later, when my daughter was a teenager, she bought a fancy new glow-in-the-dark Ouija board. She immediately heard from Zozo. It was like Zozo had been waiting all these years for her to contact him. He said some very frightening and terrible things. He also told her that her mother had opened the gate years ago. A few minutes later, I walked in the door from work. Right away the planchette spelled out “Hello Deena.” My daughter burned her board.

Again, I went online to see if there is anything about Zozo. This time I found hundreds of references to this “demon of the Ouija board.” Many people have encountered this demon, and none of the encounters were anything but terrifying.

I often receive emails and letters from readers asking me about Ouija boards. My advice is to stay away from them. I know the boards are fascinating, intriguing, and mysterious. I know how exciting they can be to use. I also know first hand how dangerous they can be. Beware! Please!

  1. several years ago some friends and were doing some ghost hunts and we were using a ouija board some and I channeled a spirit and began speaking in Aramake and Hebrew (I only know this because one of my friends was studing to be a priest and he told me) well it was a rough time but he went to burn my board and it wouldn’t burn so they threw Holy Water on it and it just exploded.

Just to play it safe, burn some sage and swing it around the house, the sage will lift up any spirits from your house, or anothers. Good luck.

If you have never played the game or no one in your family has encountered “ZOZO” then you should be fine but the term ZOZO means “The Destroyer” so feel free to call him this. It is your choice, But if you have come in contact with this demon i would not even repeat its name.

  4. @Airvez,
It Can Apparently Also Send A Small Portal To ZOZO, But It Is Fine, But If You Get in Any Contact With The ZOZO Be Carefull And I Would Not Repeat The Name.

    E.g Darrins Story States,

“Today I refuse to even pronounce it’s name as I believe the mere pronunciation of it can cause it to manifest itself.”
    So Just Be Carefull.
    God Bless All.

  5. Ive been reading some of these accounts of ‘ZoZo”. I know in Africa there is a Demon which does all of the above mentioned things but it uses a different name & the locals do not like to talk about it. Its called the “Tokoloshe” -It is a mischievous and evil spirit . Anyway Ive never played With the “Quija” Board but I have had powerful encounters with Demon’s & i know there is allot of power in names. Certain names hold authority in the spirit world! Ive never personally come across this so Called “ZoZo”but Ive come across other VERY real & Powerful Demons. To name a Few the first one was “Jezebel”- Spirit of licentiousness! Another one of them was “Legion” -Which Actually Means 3000 to 6000 foot soldiers!!!!. & another was the spirit of “Cain”-Cain Was the Last one! These experiences where HECTIC to say the least! Ive looked through Some “accounts” of “Possession’s” and Ive Noticed there is allot of rubbish out there. “ZoZo” Looks interesting. I don’t know about ‘Holy Water” & wooden crosses and all that nonsense But one name that held more authority above all these “Names” & that was JESUS! There is more power in that name than 6000 Foot Soldiers! Anyway This ‘ZoZo” Sounds Very interesting. If there is any more info please let me know…Thanks.

  6. My name is Zoe. & for YEARS my nickname has been “ZOZO”

One day, me & my friend Carly were messing around with a ouija board, & we met Zozo. We didn’t know about it being dangerous, we just thought it was a spirit messing around, saying that their name was my nickname. It then started to cuss at us & say very mean things. So we closed the session properly, & gave the board to a friend.

After that, we looked up the “Zozo” ouija board on Google, & found all of these shocking stories.

We were SO glad that we gave the board away.
It’s been oer a year now, & we haven’t seen the board since. Never. Will I EVER touch a board ever again.

  7. Do you not think you making money off of Z offends and angers it?
Stupid, to anger things you don’t understand.
Granted, Z most likely enjoys the fear you instill and how your tale has brought forth so many others, is bonus.
I believe your story, I do.
But I would not mess with Z, giving it any possiblity to be offended by you.
Have you forgotten what Z has done to your loved ones?

I think that when he thinks about what ‘it’ has done to his family, it motivates him MORE to spread awareness of the dangers you bring not only upon yourselves but upon people you know and love. Educating people about ‘it’ does not credit the demon, it just lets people know what they’re getting into. It lets them know that, uiga boards themselves are not dangerous; the portals you open to the spirit realm when you USE uiga boards are dangerous.

  8. Hi… about the first story… or both, doesn’t matter, I read somewhere in the internet that “Zozo” is like the devil’s daughter? and that she has a twin sister called Lily, but she is good. Also, that “Zozo” comes from the Z entities (or something like that) and they are BAD, any entity that starts with Z (like: zozo, zaza, z-etc.) are bad. they zaza entity is like the mom (I think) and she sometimes describes herself as “Mama”… well she is bad too. you should google them.

  9. We’ve had several encounters with demons in my family, and seriously, you guys. Stay away from any sort of demonic doorway. Demons are way smarter than we are, and they will trick you soooo easily. They can pretend to be your best friend who died, or they can pretend to be a 4-year-old that died 200 years ago (smart kid that can spell, huh!), but when confronted with the name of Jesus Christ, their true identity starts to come out. Don’t talk to them. Don’t argue with them. They’re deceivers and they HATE YOU and they want to hurt you. Stay away from them like you would a room where anthrax had been spilled – or bubonic plague or smallpox or nuclear waste. Seriously. And if you have messed with them in the past, you might still have spiritual “hooks” on you they can use to get to you. Ask Jesus to free you and protect you from them. They hate the blood of Jesus, so ask Jesus to cover you spiritually with his blood. And mean it. It washes us clean and frees us. It’s awesome. Ask for HIS Spirit. Satan doesn’t want you to know that he’s not really the powerful one. Jesus is.

One incident that really stand out is, I had been trying astral projection for quite a while with no luck. One day, I was trying and suddenly, I was in the most beautiful place I had ever seen. The colors were more vivid than anything I had ever experienced. I also had the overwhelming feeling of being someplace where I SHOULD NOT BE. The feeling was so strong that I immediately went back to my body and have never attempted it again. This shit is real, people. Remember, Satan is the most beautiful creature that God ever created. If you’re looking out for ugly horned creatures, you’ll be deceived by something that looks inviting, but can destroy you.

I have had my encounters with Zozo… Through Ouija Board and Pendulum… He has done no harm to me, but protects me… I have not spoken to him for a little while through my Ouija Board which is hanging on my wall, where he likes it, because no one has been by to use it with me. He refuses to let me use the board alone… And enjoys messing around with my boyfriend, but not in a harming way… Though I do talk to him through my pendulum. I have had no problem with Zozo and have honestly learned to love him.

Just as it was mentioned in the second documentary video on this page, some demons will/can use the name zozo either to in still fear or for other purposes, of which you will never know its full intention. If you do not find “zozo” to be harmful or threatening in any shape or form, congratulations. But remember it is still a ouija board, still a doorway for demons to enter into your home and your life. Be safe about it and never trust anyone/anything that you are able to contact through this board no matter how much trust they build with you. The “friend like” and loving feeling you are receiving can also be a form of manipulation. Nobody will ever know for sure if you can contact deceased family or “good spirits” so please be careful. God bless.

I don’t believe Evan’s story at all, or if it’s over exaggerated, because you said there was no information about it on the internet to start off with – although, as this website says, Zozo has been known even before the Ouija Board was created – how did they find that out.. reading? I doubt it. There must’ve been some bit of knowledge on the internet. Good game.

  17. I don’t know if I encountered the real zozo or not, but back in college we liked to play the ouija board and “my” spirit’s name was ZAZA who claimed to be a dead aunt of my bf. (When I asked him, he asked his parents and he had no such aunt.) My friend’s spirits were MOM and MAM who were supposed to be relatives of hers. Nothing crazy or violent ever happened to us, mainly because I would say outloud and repeat over and over in my head that no evil spirits were allowed to come anywhere near us, but the interesting part is that the one time my friends used the Ouija Board when I wasn’t there, the lamp in their dorm room did go on and off by itself.

In a seperate incident, in middle school a different friend and I were using her ouija board and it did start acting all crazy, spelling swear words, and telling us to DIE! I remember my friend standing up, ripping the ouija board to pieces and us walking over to our middle school and dumping the pieces in a retention pond. Some of the things it claimed did come true though, like about her becoming pregnant at age 19 and who she was going to marry.

Something the black figure takes on different shape depending on your blood not blood types. But what run in your family. In a dream, I saw a very old book and my black figure point a part in the book. It say that I was a “Olk”, and I can let you search that up yourselve. 22. Hi Everyone

Hope you are well. I would like to share a story with you that my dad told me regarding this Board game… I am 26 years old and my dad 55. My dad is a successful business man and does not need to tell stories that aren’t true to be someone or make money out of it. He told me that after he got out of the Angola War and went home… He always to this day likes swimming and he was about 20 or so at the time (I’m not sure) it doesn’t really matter… So he went to a local large swimming pool with his best friend near his house. He saw a girl his age and noticed her back was full scratches and deep marks that have healed but it looked really bad. My dad asked the girl what her name was and that he just really wants to know what the marks on her back was all about? And she said to him “even if I tell you you won’t believe me…” My dad asked her to tell him and he is open minded regarding stuff like this as he just came out of a real war so nothing will really shock him at that stage. She told my dad that “When she was a little girl she could see a small man with grey hair laughing at her if she looks over her Grand dad’s shoulder while he is hugging her and this little man would hit her repeatedly with that stuff they hit horses with on her back screaming and no one else can see the little man except for her……… My dad started laughing and said this is the biggest shit he has ever heard this can’t be true. And she said that my dad and his friend should come her house at night time he and his friend so that she can show him what she is doing in her spare time.. . .. . So my dad went there with his friend. My dad said that when she opened her house’s doors there where a couple of people wearing only black and they all sat down next to the “Ouija board” in circle …. They performed the exact thing as in the video in this website… (((My dad lost his mom while she was giving birth))) while he was in the army and he loved her very much and could not come over that till this day. So he started to ask questions in his turn around the board still believing that this is a bunch of shit so he asked the board a question NO ONE knew not even his best friend…. He asked what his mother’s (my grand mother) real FULL name was and it spelled it out raising my dad’s hair all over his body, my dad then asked the board “How is this possible that we can communicate with you????” And my dad said it spelled out “FOK DUIWEL” which means “FUCK DEVIL” in English. (We are Afrikaans speaking…South africans ) and the glass ran off the board and that was when my dad realized that there is evil = Devil so there must be a God. my dad told me this story a very long time ago and I asked him regarding this same story over the phone the other day now that I am older and he said he promise me it’s the truth and nothing but the truth I must stay away from that!!

I am not here to scare you or impress you whatsoever I’m here to warn you as my dad warned me.

    God bless all of you

  23. Has anyone ever heard of a demon by the name of akazi? and my ouija board also gave me a telephone number and told me to call it :s it gave me the number: 667-008-0666. What worries me, is that it ends in 666. I’ve had contact with Zozo before, do you think this may be him again?

  24. When I was a teenager, I lived in a flat with my girlfriend and another couple. My girlfriend was fascinated by the occult, and would perform Tarot readings everyday. She was also obsessed by Alistair Crowley and his writings. I myself was not into this sort of thing, but I went along with it anyway.. as you do.
My first Ouija experience was with her and some friends. We made a board, had some drinks and started to “play”. We used a shotglass on the board, and about five people had one finger on the glass. Things started off ok, people asking questions, yes no answers. Then it was my turn. I asked if a spirit was with us, and got the reply “Yes”. “What is your name?” I asked. It spelt only 2 initials, S L. My great uncle had passed away earlier that year, and those were his initials. No one else knew this information, but hey, that could have been a coincidence. I then asked “Where are you?” and got the reply H-E-L-L. We stopped playing as this upset me and I thought maybe one of my friends was messing with me.
Some time passed, and we decided to do another one, my girlfriend, myself and the couple we lived with. We started out with the usual questions, and were quickly made aware of something being present. Outside a storm started. I can’t remember if we asked for a name (thank God) but when asked if we were talking with a spirit we received the reply “yes”. We asked where it was, and it replied “here”. Outside the storm intensified. Foolishly, my girlfriend asked “If you are really here, give us a sign” moments later, there was a loud BANG on the door (not unlike the I AM ZOZO movie scene) scared now, we decided to shut it down but just at that moment my cat which had been sitting next to us the whole time began moaning in the most unnatural way. It sounded like it was talking, and it’s eyes were rolling. He wouldn’t snap out of it, and we freaked out. We abandoned the board and went to our rooms.
That night I had a dream about my flatmates pet axolotl (I know, bizarre). In this dream his aquarium was in a desert, and began to fill with sand, suffocating him.
I woke to screaming, and rushed out of the room to see a shocking sight. There were bits of axolotl everywhere, and bloody paw prints all over the room, but more shockingly bloody paw prints covering the Ouija board. Now you have to understand, the aquarium was covered with a heavy lid that could only be removed by a person, and my cat had never showed interest in it before. Now some people might laugh at this, or think it is just a silly coincidence, but that was enough to scare me off this sort of thing for life. I don’t know if it is related to the entity described by others in this blog as I am sure there are many, but I would warn anyone who thinks about doing this.. you might get a bit more than you ask for. Oh, and I am from New Zealand.

  25. I have never heard of this whole “Zozo” phenomenon before today, but am intrigued to see the movie primarily because it is shot in Super 8. I own a really nice Nikon R8 Super Zoom camera and have shot Super 8 film since I was 14(39 now.) Another thing that intrigued me is the subject matter of this film. I’ve been a fan of movies such as “The Exorcist” and the original “Witchboard” for years. This past spring I found a really nice 60′s Parker Brothers Ouija board on eBay and purchased it for about $20. It arrived in the original box and in excellent condition. You can tell the old ones because they are not made of cardboard. This one is made from the same material that is used to make clipboards. However, this board smells like cigars for some reason and the smell becomes stronger as you use the board. I haven’t had any negative experiences so far using it, but have only used it 2/3 times. However, now I’m sort of wondering if I should use it again, especially after reading about all of this. I’ve heard multiple things from different people. One friend said to just cleanse the board and put out a call for only positive forces to come through while another said that good spirits have passed over, so all you’ll ever get coming through one of those boards is something evil. I told them that I haven’t had a bad experience from it and he said, “You also haven’t used it that much.” That is also true and my sessions with it were really short. I didn’t actually ask anything beyond who or what and most of the responses I got back were gibberish, so I got bored and stopped playing it. I told it that I was going to stop and said “Goodbye” and the planchette went down to “Goodbye” on the board. What are other people’s opinions on using these and how to protect yourself? Can it be done?

  26. I’ve had experiences with this entity since the late ’80s. At first it would just spell it’s name over and over if I was on the board. We mistakenly took it as Oz and thought it was just being repetitive. My husband (we’ve been together since my 16th birthday in 1987) and others have witnessed this. If I’m in the room, he takes over and will only spell his name. Remember, we didn’t have the internet back in the days that I first started experiencing this. I had begun to have strange things happen in my upstairs bedroom when i first started playing around with ouija boards, like the lights coming on and off, radios doing the same, hearing people walking around talking (my friends, family and I all heard this), etc. One night while I was asleep in the room, my sister (in her mid20s at the time) in a downstairs bedroom directly beneath my room thought I was moving furniture around at 4:30 am. Nothing had been moved. My father is a minster and never saw anything happen. But he took my sisters’, my friends’ and my fears seriously enough to spend from 3:30am-4:30am sitting in my room. This was the time that things usually happened- and yes I know this time is significant. I had stopped sleeping in my room by then. Of course, nothing happened. When I went to college some girls were doing their ouija board one night. It told them I was haunted by a girl who killed herself near my house. Today, I believe that it was all the same demon making up stories. I stopped doing the ouija board when my problems began but would try to see if it would work for me on occasion. It does not. I avoid ouija boards entirely today and will not say that entity’s name. I’m into Led Zeppelin and prefer to call the album that goes by a similar name, Led Zeppelin IV. =) I’ve never let him have power over me; however, the fact that there is proof of this makes me feel that it should be avoided. It’s a demon! They are ancient evil entities who should be feared.
For some reason, there are some of us who are predisposed to having paranormal experiences. I’ve had them my entire life. I even had an evp happen when I was 9 years old. I was trying to make a scary tape. When I played it back, all I heard was what sounded like a lion roaring and wind howling. I played it for my family. They thought it was terrifying and remember it to this day. My sister is 50 and is convinced it was a real evp. I had the tape for years before erasing it because I felt it was too eerie. Anyway, many of us who are involuntarily open to these types of experiences wish we could close off this relationship entirely. I’ve managed to do so pretty well but I know that if someone is going to have an experience with a spirit, it will be me.
